Specs, translated
The science is real. We just make it feel great.

Zero-drop
Feels like barefoot, but cuter.
Heel and toe sit level with the ground — the zero-drop stance your feet were built for. You stand grounded, tall, and effortless.
Individual toe slots
Room to just… exist.
Individual slots let your toes spread instead of squeezing into a point — room that bunions and tired feet quietly thank you for.
9mm flex sole
Light enough to forget.
Thin, ridiculously flexible, and quiet — from a lively session at the gym to a full day on your feet. You feel the earth beneath you and move with grace and confidence.
Breathable uppers
Barefoot energy, don't sweat it!
Soft, flexible upper material that moves with you, not against you.

Everyone’s reaching for these.

Are barefoot shoes good for women?
Historical footwear fashions have compressed female foot anatomy on a severe level. Peluvas eliminate that nonstop compression and misalignment and give your feet room to recover — and to cope with the adverse effects of fashion shoes when you choose to wear them!
What's the difference between barefoot shoes and wide toe box shoes?
You must have five individual toe slots for true barefoot functionality. Wide toe box shoes are better than restrictive shoes, but they don't actively relax, realign, and strengthen your feet like Peluvas do.
Are barefoot shoes good for bunions?
Many Peluva wearers with bunions report noticeable relief, because the individual toe slots let your foot position naturally — the constant compression that aggravates a bunion is gone. Barefoot shoes can't reverse a bunion overnight, but removing that daily pressure is the first thing our customers say they feel.
Can barefoot shoes help with plantar fasciitis?
Since wearing Peluvas can gradually and naturally strengthen your feet, you can target the cause of plantar fasciitis. The key is transitioning slowly and listening to your body — we cover the full picture on our dedicated page.
Can you work out or run in women's barefoot shoes?
Yes — Peluvas are built for walking, hiking, the gym, and everyday life, where the ground-feel and toe splay shine. Peluva co-founder Mark Sisson recommends walking over the often exhausting, injurious endurance running (details in his book Born to Walk).
How should women's barefoot shoes fit?
Peluvas fit close, like a glove — snug, but your toes should never feel cramped. Your toes can fill their entire slots (a little space is fine too). We generally recommend sizing up a half-size from your regular running shoe. Watch the fit video on our sizing guide to see the try-on technique in action.
How is Peluva different from Vibram FiveFingers or Vivobarefoot?
Like Vibrams, Peluvas have individual toe slots, but (unlike Vibrams) also have sufficient cushion to handle hard modern surfaces and make the transition to barefoot easier. Like Vivos, Peluvas have a flat, flexible sole, but (unlike Vivo) have individual toe slots for true barefoot functionality.
