Nurse Practicioner Marie Can't Stop Playing In Peluvas!
Nurse Practitioner Marie got a new pair of pink Strand Lightweight Trainers back in 2024 and immediately wore them for a 12-hour shift at work. After a single shift, she says: “I was more comfortable, had less foot pain, and better overall foot function. I was so pleased with my experience that I went out on my day off and walked 10 kilometers in my Peluvas - mostly on pavement too! Felt great. A year later, Peluva had taken over my closet. I love the Strand Lightweight Trainer, Strand ATR, Zen Active Slip-On, and the Court Ad-In."
Besides working her 12-hour shifts at an urgent care clinic, she walks extensively in Peluvas, and does her gym workouts and Pilates classes in them. Lately, she's become enamored with a new athletic outlet of Pickleball, and found the Court Ad-In to be fantastic on the pickleball courts.
"You have better balance and stability, especially when you step sideways and reach for difficult shots. Every time I play, someone notices my shoes and we get into conversation about how being in a five-toe, zero drop shoe is better on the court than a more cushioned, but less stable, tennis shoe. Heck, I was playing pickleball in my Strand ATRs before the Court Ad-In was launched!"
As you might imagine from being at the urgent care clinic, Marie sees a lot of pickleball injuries–turned ankles, knee sprains, and shoulder and wrist issues. She reflects, "It’s so obvious to me that when you have better groundfeel and foot mobility, you have much less risk of injury on the court. It might take a while to transform the athletic shoe industry, but I think Peluvas will become the norm on the court very soon. See you out there–hopefully wearing Peluvas!"
